Anki – probably the best spaced repetition software (so far)
Last week I introduced you to an idea of spaced repetition software. Today let me tell you about Anki – probably the best spaced repetition software out there.
Anki is an open source software that helps you remember anything. It runs on many platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android.
There are many thing anki does great!
- It’s open source
- Your card synchronize between devices
- It has rich settings
- It support many forms of content, including audio and video
- It’s performant
- It’s open to extension.
So, why I decided to take my spin on spaced repetition software?
I have an open mind and I’m not blind to Anki’s downsides. Neither are other people. I listen to what others say and will try to address some issues with my app.
Next post I will list down all things Anki does well (things I want to implement).
Yet another post I will list down things Anki does poorly, and pick which ones my new app will address and how.
